Launched at FAO Headquarters, the Right to Food and Nutrition Watch 2016 warns seeds and biodiversity are under threat as a result of the increasing corporate capture and the states’ neglect. The first series of ‘The Struggle for the Right to Food and Nutrition’ looks into key concepts within the framework of food sovereignty, beyond the frontiers of food security. Launched this week, the People’s manual on the Guidelines on Governance of Land, Fisheries and Forests will serve as a reference for affected communities to assert their rights. On the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2015, FIAN International published three analytical briefings. These are part of a series dedicated to feed into negotiations around the text for the future UN Declaration on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas. The Right to Food and Nutrition Watch is annually published by Brot für die Welt, ICCO and FIAN International, in partnership with a number of other organisations.
